The Itinerary Sounds and Visions of Caravaggio includes a guided tour in English language in the Doria Pamphilj Palace, the most prestigious private Gallery of Rome, and an enthralling live musical performance in some Halls of the Palace and a final concert in the superb Jupiter Hall reserved for our guests. The musicians will perform all music on Baroque instruments.

Art: Caravaggio, Raffaello, Bernini, Tintoretto, Velàzquez, Carracci
Music by: Monteverdi, Frescobaldi, Falconieri, Sanz, Caccini, Aranes, Praetorius, Landi, Gastoldi and others Baroque composers performed live by Schola Romana Ensemble, our resident historically informed group.

CARAVAGGIO AND THE PHANTOM OF THE LUTE PLAYER

A mysterious presence moves around the masterpieces of Caravaggio in the Doria Pamphilj Palace. The young lute player, repeatedly painted by Caravaggio, appears in the Halls of the Palace during our guided tour and with his lute plays the scores presented by the Genius in his works.

After these apperances, at the end of the visit, the lute player will receive you in a specially reserved Hall of the Palace for a final concert in which the sound of lute, theorbo and baroque guitar will resonate for an unforgettable experience during your stay in Rome.

NEW YEAR’S BAROQUE CONCERT

The scintillating music of Roman Baroque is the star of this extraordinary event. The sound of the Baroque music comes alive in the original instruments from the period in one of the most famous Palaces in Rome from the 1600: Doria Pamphilj Palace. The art Gallery hosts more than 400 paintings, from which are masterpieces of Caravaggio,Raphael, Tiziano, Bernini, Velàzquez. The event consists of a beautiful Guided tour of the Gallery accompany with live Baroque music on original instruments. The multisensory experience concludes with fabulous concert in the specially reserved Hall.
