| The picture by Paris Bordon is clearly
allegorical, with mythological references, and portrays Venus, Mars
and Cupid in a natural landscape, thick with shadows in the vegetation,
which opens into a blue patch of sky, striped with clouds on high
to the left, close.
The canvas by the great sixteenth-century Venetian painter is in
excellent condition. The restoration carried out a few years ago
removed a repainting carried out for motives of censorship on the
décolleté of the goddess. |
